Truffle Hunts and Experiences:


All Hunts are weather dependent.

In the event that the weather is unsuitable on the day of your scheduled booking, your hunt will be cancelled and all efforts made to reschedule at no additional cost to you. When booking, please provide us with suitable contact information so we can get a hold of you the days prior to your booking. We suggest you call us the day before your hunt if you have any doubt about the weather.

Cancellation and Refunds

Southern Cross Truffles reserves the right to postpone/cancel any trips due to adverse weather conditions.

Southern Cross Truffles Ltd will not be liable for any consequential losses or additional costs incurred as a result of cancellation. Some supplier’s products and services associated with our packages are non-refundable or incur separate fees.

A cancellation fee of 100% applies if the client cancels within 24 hours of hunt.

A cancellation fee of 50% applies if the client cancels between 24 and 72 hours of hunt.

A cancellation fee of 25% applies if the client cancels between one month (31 days) and 72 hours of hunt.

Hunts are fully refundable in the event that Southern Cross Truffles cancels the service, however, third-party charges may still apply.

Prices and Booking Confirmation

Prices are in NZ$.

50% deposit is required at time of booking or within 24 hours to secure the reservation.

The balance of payment is due prior to hunt departure.

100% payment is required at time of booking on all hunts due to depart within 10 days.

Truffles and Truffle Products


All orders are supplied subject to product availability. Due to the nature of fresh truffle, supply can be erratic. Orders are for within New Zealand only. NO rural delivery unless prior agreement made.


All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars (NZD), inclusive of GST. Payment can be made by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). If you are a web customer and are paying by Credit Card, your card details will be kept as a token by payment Express New Zealand. Those paying by Direct Debit or Online Banking please contact us to make appropriate payments. Whatever payment method used, goods will not be released until receipt of payment.

Due to variable weights of products and variations in readily available stock, there may be changes made between the original order submitted and the final agreed order.


All deliveries in New Zealand (excluding rural delivery) will be delivered before 5pm the following day of the order being paid for and processed unless there are issues beyond our control. We will not be liable for failure to deliver when delay has been due to causes beyond the control of Southern Cross Truffles Ltd, but we will do our best to advise you if we know of any problem.

It is essential you clearly indicate relevant delivery instructions. If no one is going to be present at the delivery point, then you will need to specify where to leave the goods (e.g. In the mailbox or at the back door). In any event, if a customer is not present to take delivery of the goods, the goods will still be left at the delivery address, at your own risk.

Due to their nature all truffle products need chilling.  All packages will be sent in a properly sealed container with an ice pack included. Note that we do not have refrigerated delivery option. Orders will be sent at the purchasers own risk and Southern Cross Truffles Ltd will not be liable for any subsequent issues regarding chilling. Neither will it be liable for any variation in condition of the product following any delivery.

We give a guarantee that the truffles will have met the order specifications at time of dispatch from the packing house.

Truffle Trees

We take all reasonable care to have all trees, plants, seed, fungi etc to be of merchantable quality, and to be true to name and description, but any express or implied conditions, statements or warranty whether arising by statute or common law or otherwise as to merchantable quality, names or description are, to the full extent permitted by the law, hereby excluded. Errors and omissions are accepted.

With regard to consultancy advice given, no assurance or warranty is given expressly or implied as to the accuracy, timing, or extent of any projections or predictions given. Nor is there any guarantee given that any husbandry or management suggestions given will have any or all of any intended or predicted results.

Tree seedlings are tested in-house for acceptable rate of fungi activity, unless otherwise stated.

Southern Cross Truffles Ltd. will not sell goods intended for resale, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel a delivery at any time.

Credit Card payments; DPS payments will reserve the payment made by customers so any variations & availability of products ordered and not supplied can be charged at the correct invoiced amount.
